The soon to be released “Liar Game ~Reborn~” will be getting a spin-off drama that will begin airing in March.
Back in October, it was announced that a new Liar Game movie called “Liar Game -Reborn-” would be opening in theaters on March 3rd. The new movie would be replacing actress Erika Toda with a new character named ‘Shinomiya Yu’ who will be played by Tabe Mikako. The new movie would also be starring wunderkind child actress Ashida Mana.
The new drama, to be titled “Alice in Liar Game” is set to focus on the life of Alice (played by Mana) and her mysterious relationship with Omega.
The Liar Game is based on the manga by Kaitani Shinobu. It’s a battle of wits story centered on a college student named ‘Kanzaki Nao’ and her new partner, the genius swindler ‘Akiyama Shinichi’. The two team up and work together with the ultimate goal of bringing the Liar Game down from the inside, by winning it.
The original Liar Game drama aired for 2 seasons and concluded with a movie titled “Liar Game: The Final Stage”. It brought in nearly 2.4 billion yen at the Japanese box office (roughly $31 million USD).
The new drama, “Alice in Liar Game”, is set to air March 5th to the 8th, with each episode running 55 minutes. ‘Liar Game: ~Reborn~’ will open in theaters on March 3rd.
